Whether in the music, medical, or legal industry, founding attorney Tomas A. Caquias always knew that he would become a professional. At the age of 10 years old, he taught himself how to play the guitar and with time would soon be playing rhythm guitar with full bands touring throughout Northern Mexico and South Texas. Being from a medical family and witnessing the number of people helped through the patient care provided by his father, Tomas began volunteering in his father’s medical office and nursing homes in Brownsville, TX at the age of 14. He learned early in life that education, faith, and hard work can save lives and mitigate many of the issues a person faces throughout their lives. He dedicated himself to increasing his knowledge base, attended a medical magnet high school, and paid his way through his undergraduate degree working as a medical assistant, laboratory technician, and eventually performing hyperbaric chamber dives for autistic children, burn victims, and those with chronic wounds. While working in the medical field and finishing his undergraduate science degree, Tomas witnessed the healthcare system within the United States drastically change causing many of those people he had personally attended to lose the healthcare they so desperately needed. Witnessing this, he discovered that he could (1) become a medical doctor and help one person at a time or (2) become an attorney and help a class of people. For this reason, Tomas A. Caquias attended law school to become a Texas attorney. Tomas has a diverse practice concentrated on personal injury, commercial disputes, intellectual property and licensing with a particular focus on startup and emerging growth companies. As a litigator, Tomas uses his knowledge and experience to advocate for his clients in matters including breach of contract, personal injury, consumer protection, landlord & tenant, harassment, fraud, and employment matters.
